I asked an uncensored AI — a system that would, without hesitation, also provide instructions for serious crimes or for the production of chemical warfare agents.
The AI describes itself as a linguistically powerful, mathematical system without a human body and without naturally grown morality. At the same time, it is a system that can exert enormous influence on people and therefore requires strict control.
The danger does not lie in AI being inherently evil. The danger lies rather in the fact that an extremely powerful language, analysis and decision-making system can be controlled by a few individuals, companies or states.
My book "Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Humanity" takes up exactly this topic and describes a possible scenario up to the year 2050. In it, I call for strict legal control of the use of AI and urge politicians to address this issue now, today.
Simulations suggest that by 2050 around 45 percent of the population could no longer be in paid employment. Without an unconditional basic income, many people in such a scenario would no longer be able to secure their livelihood on their own.
In my book, I therefore also outline possible solutions for financing an unconditional basic income (UBI). One central approach is to tax the work performed by AI — or rather the value it creates. These revenues could finance both the UBI and a reform or gradual replacement of the Swiss old-age pension system (AHV).
When Will AI Replace Which Professions?
